Here for sale we have the Ibanez JEM77WDP Electric Guitar in the Charcoal Brown Low Gloss finish. Built in 2016 in Indonesia, this guitar features a Walnut top, Mahogany body, 5pc Maple and Walnut neck topped with a 24 Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard with the 'Tree Of Life' inlay. The pickups on this guitar are two DiMarzio Dark Matter 2 in the bridge and neck position and one DiMarzio Dark Matter 2 single coil in the middle position. These are wired to a master volume, master tone and a 5-way pickup selector switch. The 5pc Maple​/​Walnut neck plays fantastically well, as you would expect from Steve Vai and Ibanez. The ‘Wizard Premium’ profile could be described as a shallow 'D' shape which provides a nicely flattened area to the centre. This ensures lightning fast playability and easy reach in all registers. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 15.75" radius delivers a flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register, well suited to the fast articulate playing Vai is known for. The Jumbo frets enhance the feel of string bending and vibrato techniques whilst also reducing the pressure required to fret a note. The Edge Zero ll tremolo system paired with a deepened body cavity can handle all of your dive-bombing and guitar acrobatics with astonishing ease whilst retaining excellent tuning stability and adjustability. The pickups on this guitar were designed for Steve Vai's JEM guitar range. Lots of high output pickups have anomalies in their higher register resulting in sharp edges. DiMarzio has taken this on by engineering their own with a softness on the top end. The neck pickup is balanced with a warm modern voice that responds well through a clean amp or a heavy overdrive. The middle single coil has an emphasis on balance and smoothness, with enough output to work well with the Dark Matter humbuckers. The bridge humbucker has a modern approach that blends clarity and warmth. Overall, this guitar has a great sound from clean to overdrive as you would expect from the Steve Vai signature range. Body: Overall excellent condition. The rear face of the body demonstrates a small chip which exposes the wood beneath, located just above the battery compartment in addition to a small chip on the rear edge of the bass side waist. All other surfaces demonstrate very light scratches and small indentations as is common with an open pore finish. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate a mild flattening of the crown not affecting playability. There is substantial material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
