Here for sale we have an Ibanez SR705 5-String Electric Bass in Walnut Flat finish. Made in Japan in 2001, this bolt-on constructed bass consists of a Mahogany body, a 1-piece Maple neck, and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Ibanez die-cast machine heads, an Accu-cast B25 fixed bridge, and Cosmo Black hardware. The pickups installed on this bass are an Ibanez DX-B5 in the bridge, and an Ibanez DX-N5 in the neck position. These pickups are wired to a volume control, balance, treble boost​/​cut, bass boost​/​cut, and a mid boost​/​cut. The 1-Piece Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘SR5’ profile feeling slim, allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The 12” radius Rosewood fingerboard provides a comfortable playing surface, which allows for different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The Satin finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cutaway body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire 24 fret register. The pair of Ibanez DX pickups produces a modern voicing, thick low end is present which complements the driving mids and sparkling top end, helping put your playing front and centre in the mix. The simplistic, yet logistical, nature of the control layout provides the player with an easy ‘plug in and go’ characteristic with plenty of scope for tonal shaping and exploring every possible sound that this bass can produce. Our ID: 129032589442 Weight: 9.8lbs Serial: F0146931 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall good condition. A repair is present to the bass side rear face, this has been repaired to a professional standard with the crack still visible. Very light indentations can be seen to the edges of the headstock, these can only be seen under close scrutiny. The front face displays light scratching which can only be seen under direct light. Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentation is present to the rear of the neck through out the register, these can be felt slightly in the playing position but do not effect the playability of the instrument. Light indentations can be seen to the early register of the fingerboard below the low B string, this is consistent with the string touching the fingerboard from past use. Body: Overall good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate scratching and indentation in line with a well played bass of this age, most notably to the treble side lower bout edge. The bass side bottom edge demonstrates mild chipping and indentation revealing the wood beneath. The rear demonstrates moderate buckle rash, some of which slightly piercing the finish. High contact areas such as the arm contour and belly carve have polished to a high gloss appearance, this is common for an open pore finish with regular past use. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent to the early register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. Not truss rod tool included (hex 5mm) Hardware: Overall very good condition. The original tuning machines have been replaced, the original tuners are not included. The pickup covers display light indentations from where the strings have pressed against them in the past. The bridge displays light tarnishing of the finish. Two screws are missing from the truss rod cover. Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
