Here for sale we have a Jackson X Series Kelly KEXMG electric guitar in Tobacco Sunburst finish. Made in Indonesia in 2012, this guitar features a set-through construction comprising a Basswood body with Quilted Maple top, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Black hardware including a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo system & Jackson sealed tuning machines. A pair of active EMG humbuckers are fitted, with an 85 in the neck and 81 in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume and master tone controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with a profile that is slim and articulate as you would expect from a Jackson, and certainly lends itself well to more technical styles of playing. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck ensures slick navigation of the 25.5" scale, whilst the set-through construction and generous cutaways enhance access to the upper frets, really opening up the full register of the instrument. The Rosewood fretboard is pleasant under the fingers and adds a sense of luxury to the playing experience, whilst the 12"-16" radius ensures that the neck is tailored to the needs of the player in all positions; rounder in the lower register for comfortable chord playing and flatter in the higher frets for lead lines and string bending. The pair of active EMG humbuckers installed in this instrument deliver thick, crushing tones by the bucket load. One of EMG's most popular sets, the 81​/​85 combination is highly versatile, with round and smooth lead tones from the neck position and searing, sharp rock and metal rhythm sounds from the bridge. Both pickups can handle a serious amount of gain whilst retaining clarity and definition, saturating into a full-bodied distortion as you push the amp up to 11. Simple but effective controls ensure you remain in full command of your sound at all times, easily within reach without intruding on the playing experience. Luthier Report Our ID: 1010825122101 Weight: 8.45lbs Serial: ICJ1352226 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top of the headstock demonstrates a small chip revealing the wood beneath. Further light indentation and scuffing can be identified surrounding this. The front face demonstrates light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Neck: Overall excellent condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates light scratching throughout the register which cannot be felt under the thumb. These markings are only visible under direct lighting at certain angles. Body: Overall good condition. The front face demonstrates some moderate indentations to the bass side edge, piercing the finish and revealing the wood beneath. Both the bass side bottom corner and the tip of the treble side horn demonstrate notable chips, with wood exposed beneath the finish and further light cracking surrounding these points. This is extremely common with ‘X’ shaped guitars. The sides and rear face demonstrate very light indentation and scratching which are only visible under direct lighting at certain angles. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
