Klira Red King Black Red Sunburst Circa. 1960 Germany Arch T
This guitar is a commission sale - if you have a high end guitar you are interested in selling, please contact us via our easy to find website - search: Sell Us Your Guitar. Here for sale we have a Klira Red King in Black Red finish. Made in Germany in the 1960’s. Klira was originally a Violin manufacturer, founded in 1887 in Schonbach, which is now in the Czech Republic. After WWII, the company was relocated to Bavaria in Germany. The growing popularity of the guitar during the 1950's meant that the company became well known for its archtop guitars. This guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Maple body with Spruce top, Maple neck and 19 fret Rosewood fingerboard and, what looks to be Ebony, bridge. Nickel hardware is fitted including a Klira trapeze tailpiece and closed-gear tuning machines. The Maple neck plays well, with a moderately sized profile which could be described as a 'D' shape. This offers comfortable playability in all registers whilst adding a sense of character to the playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 9.5" radius is equally well suited to smooth lines and jazzy chord playing. The years of playing and ageing that the neck has seen produce a familiarity and comfort which is very inspiring in the hands. The acoustic voice of the Klira Red King is both soft and articulate, perfectly capturing the 'Jazz Box' tone that you would expect from this instrument. Chords sound distinctive and clear, whilst melodic lines are smooth.
