Made in the USA in 2012, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Flame Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard, inlaid with bordered abalone birds. Nickel hardware is fitted including a vintage-style 6-point tremolo bridge and PRS locking open-gear tuning machines. A pair of PRS humbucking pickups are installed, with a HFS in the bridge position and a Vintage Bass in the neck. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls. The Mahogany neck plays superbly well, with the 'Pattern Thin’ profile offering a smooth, responsive and articulate paying experience in all registers. Certainly, the profile is well suited to lead players as it is slim enough for fast melodic lines and solos. The gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25" scale, and the double cutaway body design with signature PRS sculpted lower horn enhances access to the upper frets. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, it's 10" radius feeling practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques whilst the attractive bordered Abalone inlays add a touch of luxury to the playing experience. The pair of PRS humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, with plenty of switching options to ensure versatility. The Vintage Bass in the neck position is warm and round, and delivers plenty of power to push those lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The HFS in the bridge is brighter, and can handle serious amounts of gain for a saturated rhythm guitar sound on your riffs and power chords. In positions 2 & 4 the pickups effectively split, providing an out-of-phase single coil sound which works well for crystal clear shimmering clean sounds. The control layout remains simple but offers plenty of scope for shaping your tone. Two small chips are present to the treble side tip of the headstock at the front and rear edge, with the wood exposed at the front edge. A similar chip which exposes the wood is present at the rear edge of the bass side tip. Light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall excellent condition. Light scratching and indentation is present to the heel of the neck, piercing the finish in one instance. The fingerboard shows a small indentation under the A string at the 21st fret. This is not felt in the playing position. Light scratching to the rear of the neck is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Body: Overall very good condition. Light to mild scratching and indentation is consistent across the rear face, most notably to the treble side of the neck heel where the finish is lightly cracked. At the side of the instrument, mild scratching is present near the jack socket. Light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the bass side horn. A small indentation is present to the treble side of the bridge pickup can be seen under close scrutiny. Condition of Frets: The frets show light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5​/​16" socket) included. Hardware: Overall very good condition. The metal hardware displays light tarnishing, The tremolo and control cavity covers display mild scratching consistent with buckle rash. Tremolo arm included.
