Here for sale we have a Rees F Light Fretless bass in Gloss Natural finish. Made in the UK by the now defunct boutique Luthier Rees, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Ash body, Maple neck and Richlite fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Chrome hardware including top-loading 4-saddle bridge and open-geared tuning machines. The single split-coil P-Bass style pickup is wired to master volume and tone controls. The Maple neck plays well, with what could be described as a 'D' profile feeling great in the hand. A slightly flattened section to the centre offers comfortable thumb positioning, whilst the 10" fingerboard radius provides a nicely flat and consistent playing experience in any register. The body feels very lightweight, originally designed to allow musicians to travel more easily on planes. Despite the low weight, the large upper horn keeps the guitar well balanced on the shoulders. Amplified, this bass offers fantastic fundamental bass tone right away. The P-Bass style pickup captures the sound accurately, with a warm yet detailed low end, punchy mids and a sparkling treble response that helps to push your playing forward in the mix. The simple controls offer a surprising range of tonal options, and with no frets, upright tones are easily achievable.
