The last photo is closest to the actual colour of the bass. You can also see where a round sticker has been on the bass at some point; this is a much bluer area. The other areas of the bass have a greener tinge, which no doubt is caused by the reaction to nicotine in smokey pubs and clubs this bass has been gigged in over the years. For a bass which has been gigged for 47 years, it's in amazing shape. As far as I can tell, it's all original. There's a few marks here and there and the faintest amount of buckle rash on the back, but we are talking minimal wear! It plays brilliantly (the adjustment screw on the bass side of the bridge is seized but the action is perfect where it is). What can I say about the sound? It's simply wonderful. It's got Bruce Foxton and The Jam written all over it. A rare opportunity to buy a fine example of an extremely collectible vintage Rickenbacker.
