Here for sale we have a Sigma JRC-40E Jumbo-Cutaway electro-acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in China in 2014, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Solid Sitka Spruce top, Laminated Indian Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound, whilst the top is adorned with multi-stripe purfling and Abalone​/​multi-stripe rosette. A Bone saddle and nut are fitted, along with a set of Gold Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. A Fishman undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and wired to the Fishman Presys+ on-board preamp with controls for Master Volume, 3-Band EQ, Notch, Brilliance, Phase Reverse and an on-board tuner. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile that might be described as a fairly shallow 'D' shape, which provides a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The slightly flattened area to the centre rear encourages ergonomic thumb positioning for easy reach and comfortable fretting in any fingerboard position. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 25.4" scale, whilst the generous cutaway enhances access to the upper register. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 16" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The acoustic voice of the Sigma JRC-40E is rich and powerful, with the Jumbo body shape producing plenty of volume as well as a strong bass response, as can be expected from a Jumbo-size guitar. The mids are open and clear, whilst the top end is bright and shimmering, adding a sparkle to every note played on the instrument. The on-board Fishman electronics are as reliable and versatile as ever, creating the opportunity for live and recording situations whilst providing ample sonic control. The front face demonstrates some delamination of the finish beneath the tuning machine washers. This should not worsen through regular use. The top rear edge demonstrates light indentation, as well as to the treble side rear edge near the G tuner. Neck: Overall excellent condition, any markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. Light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the rear face consistent with buckle rash. The pickguard shows milder scratching consistent with playwear. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with very light signs of wear. The tuning machines show light tarnishing with fading of the gold finish. Structural: A small gap is apparent between the fingerboard extension and top of the guitar where the neck meets the body. The neck & fingerboard extension are stable, and the guitar retains a very playable action. Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.75mm - Bass 2.25mm Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Strings on Guitar - 11-52 There is no room remaining in the saddle for adjustments to the action. Electrics: Fully functional. The electronics crackle slightly when adjusted but function correctly.
