Here for sale we have a Squier Classic Vibe Partscaster modified electric guitar in Black finish. With parts made in Indonesia in 2024, this guitar has clearly been put together by a previous owner as a tribute to David Gilmour, paying homage to his black Strat, which itself was a Partscaster comprising components from several different instruments. Naturally, a bolt-on construction is employed, and comprises a Poplar body from a Classic Vibe '70s Stratocaster, Maple neck from a Classic Vibe '50s Stratocaster. Nickel hardware is fitted including a 6-point vintage-style synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles and a set of split-post tuning machines. A trio of Squier Classic Vibe '70s Single-Coil pickups are installed with white covers onto an aftermarket single ply black pickguard, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck tone and bridge​/​middle tone controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with a nicely aged tint to the finish which provides a suitably vintage vibe. This is contrasted with some more modern conveniences such as a 9.5" fingerboard radius, Narrow Tall frets and a 'C' shape profile. These features offer enhanced playability over the typical 'V' profile, vintage frets and 7.25" radius associated with '50s necks. Certainly, the profile will feel feel familiar to those used to Fender's Modern 'C' & Deep 'C' profiles as it retains a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The 9.5" radius is paired with Narrow Tall frets for a highly practical playing surface, well equipped for both chordal and lead playing. The trio of Squier Classic Vibe '70s Stratocaster pickups installed in this guitar deliver clear and precise tones, just as we expect from a Strat. The neck is the warmer of the three, providing ample power for lead and solo tones to be heard in a dense band mix. The bridge and middle pickups offer brighter sounds, with funky rhythm tones in the middle and sparkly cleans or snarling crunch tones from the bridge. There is plenty of Strat 'Honk' in the out of phase positions 2 & 4, whilst the modern wiring layout offers a more versatile and comprehensive range of sounds than its vintage equivalent. A convincing and well playing Gilmour Strat at a fraction of the cost. A small black mark is present at the treble side of the rear face. All other aspects of the headstock display light signs of past use. Neck: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use. Body: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the rear face, treble side lower bout, these can be seen under direct light and have not pierced the finish. All aspects of the body display light scratching which can be seen under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the pickguard consistent with playwear. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate minimal signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm Hex) included. Hardware: Overall very good condition. The original pickguard has been replaced with a black single ply, the original pickguard is included. The neck is a 50's classic vibe neck whereas the body is a classic vibe 70's body.
