Here for sale we have a Sterling by MusicMan Stingray RAY34 in Honey Burst finish. Built in Indonesia, this bass features a Swamp Ash body, Satin finished 6 bolt Maple neck and a 21 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. The hardware features consist of a Sterling by Music Man Designed Bridge and a set of open gear tuning machines. This bass is fitted with a Music Man designed humbucking pickup, this is wired to master volume control and a 3-band EQ active preamp. The Maple neck profile feels slim and consistent, allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The 9.5” radius Maple fingerboard provides a smooth and comfortable playing surface, along with the 1.687” nut width which allows for different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The Satin finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cutaway body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire register. The humbucker produces a modern voicing, with a thumping low end that is complemented by driving mids and a smooth top end that helps put your playing stand front and centre in the mix. The 3-band EQ Active Preamp provides an extra push that's needed for live settings or to drive the amplifier when you need that bit extra, whilst helping remove unwanted bass and treble when it's not needed, providing a great instrument for tonal sculpting. The simplistic nature of the control layout provides the player with an easy ‘plug in and go’ characteristic for ease of tonal sculpting. Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition. The edges of the headstock display light indentations some of which have pierced through the finish, these can be seen to the front face treble side edge. The front face displays light scratching which can be seen under direct light. Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck displays light indentations across the register which can be felt under the finger in the playing position. The most noticeable of these can be seen behind the nut and behind the 2nd fret to the treble side where the indentations display discoloration. Body: Overall good condition. Screw holes are present to the front face where a pick guard used to be installed. Light to mild indentations can be seen to all aspects of the body, the most prominent of these can be seen to the front face treble side of the bridge where the wood beneath is exposed and rear face near the battery compartment. Al;l aspects of the body display scratching which can be seen under direct light. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent to the register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (spoke wheel) not included. Hardware: Overall good condition. The bridge saddles have been replaced and comfortably sit uniform in the bridge, with this the string spacing is adequate but not perfectly central. The original pickguard is missing from a previous owner. All aspects of the hardware display light to mild signs of tarnishing and oxidation not affecting playability. Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
