Here for sale we have a Taylor AD17e Grand Pacific electro-acoustic Guitar in Satin Natural finish. Made in the USA in 2020, this guitar is part of Taylor's American Dream Series, aimed at providing professional quality instruments to the more affordable end of the market. Named after the guitar shop in which Taylor Guitars was founded in 1974, the series boats Taylor's most affordable all-solid American made instruments, utilizing streamlined & simple appointments to keep costs low. The resulting instruments deliver exceptional tone & typical Taylor build quality and playability in a package which prioritises function over form. This AD17e features an all-solid bolt-on construction comprising a Lutz Spruce top, Ovangkol back and sides, Neo Tropical Mahogany neck & 20 fret Eucalyptus fingerboard with matching bridge. A Micarta saddle and Black Graphite nut are fitted, along with a set of Chrome sealed tuning machines. Taylor's Expression System 2 behind the saddle piezo pickup and on-board preamp are installed, with discreetly shoulder-mounted controls for master volume, treble & bass. The Neo Tropical Mahogany neck plays very well. Taylor's signature neck profile is as comfortable in the hand as ever, and delivers a playing experience quite akin to an electric guitar. The profile is nice & slim in the hand, and could be described as a 'C' shape, which will certainly appeal to the vast majority of players. The Eucalyptus fingerboard is similar in appearance & texture to Ebony, and helps add a sense of luxury to an otherwise 'no-frills' construction. The round-shouldered dreadnought Grand Pacific body design is supremely comfortable in the arms, and with two strap buttons is ready for live performance too. The acoustic voice of the Taylor AD17e is rich and deep, with a broad response across the frequency range which produces a wonderfully rounded and versatile tone, suitable for a wide range of playing styles and genres. Undeniably warm, the V-Class bracing allows the tonewoods to resonate freely and deliver a vibrant, precise treble response that adds a sparkle and shimmer to both chordal and melodic playing. The Ovangkol of the back and sides is similar in character to Mahogany, providing depth and warmth. The Lutz Spruce top projects beautifully, and in combination with the large body delivers a wide & sensitive dynamic range which feels responsive to the touch. The front face demonstrates some light scratching to the treble side, visible only under close inspection. The top edge demonstrates some indentation to the rear, flattening the corner. Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates consistent light indentation in the early register which does not pierce the finish. This can be lightly felt under the thumb in playing position but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates light wear at either side of the soundhole and scratchplate, consistent with playwear. The lower bout demonstrates some indentation which pierces the finish at the treble side. The front and rear edges demonstrate consistent indentation, most notably to the bass side lower bout edge where a couple indentations pierce the finish slightly, revealing the wood beneath. Consistent scratching is apparent to the treble side waist. The rear demonstrates light scratching and indentation visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, with indentation in the early register quickly improving as you climb the neck. This does not affect playability.
