Here for sale we have a Yamaha MSG Image Standard Electric Guitar in Cherry finish. Made in Taiwan in 1989, this set-neck construction guitar consists of a Mahogany body with a Maple top, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret bound Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Chrome hardware, a Tune-O-Matic bridge, Yamaha Japan tuners, and a set of Live Alnico 5 Humbuckers. These pickups are wired to a master volume, master tone (Push​/​Pull Coil-Split), and a three-way pickup selector. The Mahogany neck plays well, with a profile which might be described as a thin 'C' shape. Similar to some contemporary neck profiles, the neck is comfortable and practical across the register, with the age of this guitar offering a unique vibe which is very inspiring in the hands. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with a slightly flatter than traditional 13.75" radius which is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The dual-cutaway body design enhances access to the upper register, with even the highest notes being extremely easy to reach. Amplified, the pair of Live Alnico 5 humbucking pickups installed in this instrument deliver thick and full-bodied tones, with plenty of power just as we have come to expect of instruments in this style. The neck is warm, and produces a smooth tone which works exceptionally well on lead lines and solos. The bridge position is of course brighter, and with a higher output can push your amp into a searing, saturated distortion tone which is perfect for bluesy-rock riffs and rhythm parts. The on-board controls offer simple but comprehensive tone-shaping opportunities, and with the addition of coil split functions offers a seriously versatile range of sounds. Our ID: 119042594074 Weight: 7.7lbs Serial: PX30009 Aesthetic Condition: Headstock: Overall very good condition, a crack in the finish is apparent to the treble side bottom corner running onto the front face. This stems from a moderate indentation to that corner. The top edge demonstrates some scuffing and a small chip revealing the wood beneath. Both front and rear faces demonstrate light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. Neck: Overall very good condition, a moderate scratch is apparent behind the third fret on the rear of the neck which can be slightly felt under the thumb in playing position. Further lighter scratching is apparent throughout the register which cannot be felt under the thumb. Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates light indentation. This is most notable between the pickups and the treble side waist, with similar markings to the treble side edge of the lower bout. Light scratching is apparent to all aspects of the body. Some scuffing and indentation is apparent to the bottom edge, cracking the finish slightly. The rear face demonstrates consistent light scratching and indentation across the entire face, consistent with buckle rash. This does not pierce the finish. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate moderate signs of wear, with light indentation in the early register and some degree of flattening of the crowns throughout.
