Made in Taiwan, this bolt-on constructed bass consists of a Basswood body, a Maple neck, and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Die-Cast tuners, a 4-saddle top-loading bridge, Black hardware, and an Active set of Yamaha PJ Single Coil pickups. These pickups are wired to a Volume, Pickup Blend, and 2-band Active EQ. The Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a moderately-sized 'C' shape which offers comfortable playability and easy reach in all registers. The satin finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 34" scale, whilst the generous double cutaways enhance access to the upper frets. The Rosewood for the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 9.5" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. Amplified, the tone of the TRBX204 is deep and rich, and will fill out the low end of any mix with ease. In addition to a thick and powerful active bass response, the TRBX204 delivers a punchy mid range and sparkling top end which captures the attack of your playing and helps to provide definition. The pair of Yamaha PJ single-coil pickups offer plenty of versatility, with a warmer sound from the split-coil in the middle and brighter tone in the bridge position. Writing - which says MLO6O - in what appears to be a marker pen is present to the rear face, centre. This is only visible under direct light from certain angles.
