Here for sale we have an Epiphone Les Paul Studio Chameleon in Bronze​/​Salmon FlipFlop finish. Made in China in 2007, this guitar features an eye-catching 'FlipFlop' or iridescent finish which appears as a different colour depending on the lighting and viewing angle. This example sports the Bronze​/​Salmon finish, which changes from a deep gold or bronze colour to a blushing pink as you rotate the instrument. It's certainly a striking finish that will stand out on stage! A set-neck construction is employed, and comprises a Mahogany body with carved Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted, including a T-O-M bridge, StopBar tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. A pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucking pickups are installed and are wired to the standard Les Paul controls. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a 'Slim D' shape which offers comfortable playability in all registers. A slightly flattened area to the centre rear of the neck encourages ergonomic thumb positioning, whilst the gloss finish ensures smooth navigation of the 24.75" scale. The Rosewood of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12" radius feels traditional as well as practical for a wide range of styles and playing techniques. As a Studio model, this guitar is slightly thinner than a Standard, enhancing comfort on long gigs with it's lower weight. The pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, just as you would expect from a Les Paul. The neck is round and warm, and provides plenty of power for pushing those solo tones to the front of the mix. The bridge is hotter and brighter, and saturates into a snarling distortion tone for your riffs and rhythm parts. The traditional Les Paul controls are as practical and versatile as ever, responding well to small changes and allowing you to dial in the perfect tone for each section of the song. The front top edge of the headstock shows very light indentation and chipping of the finish which does not expose the wood. Light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall very good condition. Light scratching to the rear of the neck is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable behind the nut. Light scratching of the fingerboard is visible under direct light. This is most notable at the 13th fret but does not impact playability. Body: Overall very good condition. Light chipping of the finish which exposes the wood is present around the front edge of the lower bout, most notable at the bass side. Mild indentations and scuffing at the sides of the body are present to the treble side waist and near the jack socket. A small indentation which does not pierce the finish to the front face is present below the bridge. Light scratching to all aspects of the body are visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finished. These are difficult to discern against the iridescent finish. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
