Crafted from Grade-A mahogany with a high-gloss Heritage Cherry finish, it features the classic asymmetrical dual-horn body shape. The neck is carved to an early '60s slim "true D" profile, offering smooth playability, with a rosewood fingerboard carrying 22 medium-jumbo frets and a 12-inch radius. A standout modification is the decorative Lyre vibrato cover but with the vibrato mechanism removed and replaced by a stop bar tailpiece, a Trucks modification. The guitar also features a "no wire" ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge and no pickguard. Vintage-style tuners with pearloid buttons, along with a PLEK-cut Corian nut, contribute to excellent tuning stability and sustain. The Derek Trucks Signature SG comes loaded with a pair of '57 Classic humbuckers, which use Alnico II magnets and 42-AWG enamel-coated wire for an authentic PAF sound. These pickups provide a balance of warm, clear neck tones and biting lead tones in the bridge, with versatile in-between sounds. The pickups are routed through 500k volume and tone pots for maximum tonal flexibility, making this guitar perfect for high-volume performance. The guitar has been fully set up, deep-cleaned and re-strung by our technician and includes its original hard case.
