In addition to the following description notes, further background information and restoration details can be found on my Vintage & Traditional Guitars website, on this link....https://www.vintagetraditionalguitars.co.uk/details.php?id=469 ....also includes YouTube video demos and details of same model guitar, This is a rare, 17.25" (43.8mm. body width) jumbo, roundhole archtop, with longer 26"​/​660mm. scale, most definitely built by Kay in either the late 1930s or early 1940s. In truth it should be named an oval-hole archtop...something like a cross between a petite-bouche & grand bouche in Maccaferri​/​Selmer​/​Gypsy Jazz style guitars. All original with a nice Spruce top, augmented ladder-style bracing, true Sunburst finish, Maple back & sides, original Kluson Single-line enclosed 3-on-a-plate machines, Rosewood floating & adjustable bridge of typical Kay design, nut appears original bone, original metal tailpiece. Fingerboard is Ebonised Maple....see "Restoration" notes on re-levelling & re-colouring, available vi the link to my VTG website description. Dimensions are 108cm.​/​42.5" overall length, 52.7cm.​/​20.75" body length, 43.4cm.​/​17.1" max. body width​/​lower bout, 31.3cm.​/​12.3" upper bout, 8.9cm.​/​3.5" body depth front & rear, 660mm.​/​26" scale, 42.5mm.​/​1.67"​/​1 11​/​16th. nut width, 35mm.​/​1.4" string spacing at nut, 52.5mm.​/​2.1" fingerboard width @ 12th. fret and 55mm.​/​2.2" E-E bridge string spacing. ....guitar plays well with excellent 12th. fret action of around 2.75mm.​/​3mm. on a straight fretboard. The is no case included, but I do have an old, but useable Hiscox GJ​/​Jumbo size hardshell case....please enquire if this would be useful.
