Washburn KC-40V Chicago Series Red Crackle 90’s Electric Gui

Here for sale we have a Washburn KC-40V Chicago Series in Red Crackle finish. Made in Korea circa.1990’s, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a Washburn 600-S locking bridge and a set of Covered Gear tuning machines. The trio of Washburn pickups are installed in an HSS configuration, these are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and a master tone. The Maple neck plays superbly, with the ‘Thin D’ profile feeling nicely slim in the hand whilst remaining substantial enough to sustain a comfortable grip for chord playing. The neck is certainly aimed at the more technically-minded player, and facilitates fast lead lines easily. The Jumbo fret wire feels rock solid under the fingers for vibrato and string bending techniques, and along with the 12" radius ensure that lead lines and solos are a breeze. The generous cutaways enhance access to the upper frets, whilst the traditional 'S' style contours enhance comfort on long gigs. The trio of Washburn pickups installed in this guitar deliver incredible versatility, making use of the HSS configuration ensure that this guitar is ready for wherever the gig takes you. The single-coils pickups in neck and middle position are crisp and bell-like, providing excellent chime and articulation, reminiscent of 80s super strat tones. Pair with a chorus effect and you’re set! The humbucker in bridge position is thick and powerful sounding without having an imbalanced output relative to the single coils. It drives the front end of an amp well and has a cutting and punchy midrange. A seriously versatile workhorse for the gigging musician.
