Here for sale we have a Yamaha BB414 electric bass guitar in Wine Red finish. Made in Taiwan in 2010, this bass features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a vintage-style top-loading bridge and open-geared tuning machines. A pair of Yamaha single-coil pickups are installed, with a split-coil in the middle and a bar single in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and master volume and tone controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a moderately-sized 'C' shape which offers comfortable playability and easy reach in all registers. The gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 34" scale, whilst the generous double cutaways enhance access to the upper frets. The Rosewood for the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 10" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. Amplified, the tone of the BB414 is deep and rich, and will fill out the low end of any mix with ease. In addition to a thick and powerful bass response, the BB414 delivers a punchy mid range and sparkling top end which captures the attack of your playing and helps to provide definition. The pair of Yamaha single-coil pickups offer plenty of versatility, with a warmer sound from the split-coil in the middle and brighter tone in the bridge position. Light indentation to the top edge does not pierce the finish. A light scuff mark is present at the front edge near the D tuner. A further indentation is present at the treble side edge, and a scuff mark to the centre of the rear face. Light scratching to the front face can be seen under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall excellent condition. Very light indentations to the rear of the neck are consistent across the register but most notable behind the 11th fret where the indentation can be lightly felt in the playing position. Any other markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern. Body: Overall very good condition. Light to mild indentation and scratching are consistent across all aspects of the body. This is most notable at the bass side front edge of the lower bout where the finish is lightly pierced. At the treble side waist of the front face milder scratching is consistent with playwear. Condition of Frets: The frets show mild signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any light fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The bridge and tuning machines display light tarnishing.
