Here for sale we have a Yamaha FG820 acoustic guitar in Brown Sunburst finish. Built in China in 2016, this guitar features a Mahogany body with Solid Spruce top and a Nato neck topped with 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard and Matching Bridge. A set of Chrome Die-Cast tuning machines are featured along with a double-bound cream body with Multi-Stripe purfling, Black and White soundhole inlay and Tortoise Pattern pickguard. The Nato neck plays very well, with a profile which could be described as ‘C’ filling the hand comfortably without being at all cumbersome. This promotes ergonomic thumb positioning and easy reach across the register, perfect for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale length, whilst the Rosewood fingerboard provides a durable playing surface. The Traditional Western body shape and smooth lines make for an extremely easy playing experience, providing comfort in both standing and seated positions. The acoustic voice of the FG820 is balanced and rich, providing great projection and good volume due to its Solid Spruce Top. The Mahogany back and sides enhance the character of the tone, producing a smooth mid range and strong responsive bass that is complemented well with the brightness of the Solid Spruce top. The Spruce top projects beautifully, delivering ample volume and dynamic range whilst retaining clarity throughout. Indentations are present to the top edge of the headstock, some of these have pierced through the finish exposing the wood beneath. Light scratching is present to the front face most noticeably near the high E tuning machine, these can only be seen under direct light as is common with high gloss finishes. Neck: Overall excellent condition. A light indentation is present to the rear of the neck near the heel of the neck, this can slight be felt in the playing position. All other aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use. Body: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to all faces of the body some of these have pierced through the lacquer finish, these are most noticeable to the treble side edge lower bout. All aspects of the body display light scratching which is visible under direct light, this is common with high gloss finishes. Condition of Frets: The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up: Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (4mm hex) Hardware: Overall very good condition. The bridge displays very light markings from previous use, these can only be seen under close scrutiny. Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
